I’m writing this to warn others about SamFwTool / SamFwToolSetup_v5.4 (downloaded as SamFwToolSetup_v5.4.zip). After installing it, I experienced what looks like wallet and credential theft, followed by wallet draining. Malware scanners have also flagged the installer as a Trojan dropper, which is the kind of malware that often installs additional malicious software after it runs.

What happened After I installed SamFwToolSetup_v5.4, my devices and wallet-related assets were compromised. I later noticed my crypto wallet was drained. The timeline was close enough that the safest assumption is that the tool led to credential theft and subsequent unauthorized access to funds.
Why you should not run it Malwarebytes flagged SamFwToolSetup as Trojan.Dropper. A “dropper” typically acts as the first stage: it launches and then delivers other malicious components onto the computer.
This matters because infostealer-style threats are commonly used to:
- scrape browser data (including cookies)
- steal saved passwords
- access sensitive files
- target wallet-related secrets such as seed phrases/private keys (depending on what’s stored locally)
If you keep wallets, seed phrases, private keys, or backups on your computer, the risk is significantly higher.
Important: don’t rely on reviews or “trust signals” Scammers may:
- post fake positive reviews
- create convincing social profiles
- use messaging apps to dismiss victims or block reports
- pressure people into running the tool quickly
So don’t treat “reviews” as proof of safety.
Telegram contact situation When I attempted to contact the operator/admin (username referenced as Tung Tạtạ / “tungtata”), I was blocked shortly after. The behavior I saw is consistent with scam operations that prevent discussion after incidents occur.
If you’re reading this: do not install SamFwTool If you already downloaded SamFwToolSetup_v5.4:
- Do not run it.
- Do not attempt to “test it” on your main machine.
- Avoid executing anything related to it on any device that stores sensitive information.
If you want to be safer:
- Use a clean, isolated environment for unknown software (for example, a properly isolated test system).
- Keep seed phrases and private keys offline (never store them in plain text on a computer).
- Assume any “wallet drain” event could be preceded by credential theft.
What to do if you already installed it If you installed SamFwToolSetup (or any similar tool) and suspect compromise:
- Disconnect the computer from the internet immediately.
- Run full malware scans using reputable security software.
- Change passwords from a trusted device (especially email, exchange, and any accounts linked to crypto).
- Move crypto to a new wallet:
- Transfer funds to a brand-new wallet immediately.
- Never reuse the same seed phrase.
- If you stored any seed phrases/private keys on the affected machine, treat them as exposed.
